VIDEO: KMA city guard beats woman to pulp

Achiaa, a trader, has been beaten mercilessly by a city guard of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) at Kejetia. In a video available to oyerepaonline.com, the KMA city guard was spotted kicking the woman from left to right whilst rolling on the ground. The victim narrating her ordeal to Oyerepa online said she was preventing the city guard from seizing her goods, but he ended up beating her. “We sell on the pavement. The KMA city guard was about to seize my things. When I refused to give them to him, he started beating me. He has destroyed all my things. What pains me is that I was not the only one selling on the pavement.” Achiaa lamented in tears. Twitter Shareholders Approve $44 Billion Elon Musk Buyout

  Elon Musk Twitter shareholders have endorsed Elon Musk’s proposed $44 billion (€44 billion) buyout of the social media platform. The tally was arrived at with most of the votes having been cast online, during a shareholder meeting that lasted just minutes. Although the deadline for the shareholder vote on the deal was set for Tuesday, it was believed that enough investors had voted by Monday evening for the outcome to be certain. The shareholder decision gives the green light for the contract to close, even as the world’s richest man seeks to exit the deal. Musk, the CEO of electric car maker Tesla, had told Twitter he does not plan to go ahead with the acquisition, arguing he was misled over the number of fake accounts on the platform. He made the announcement in May, saying he wanted more details to show that spam and fake accounts only represented less than 5% of users. Sachet Water To Be Sold At 50Pesewas From Monday.

  The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers, has announced an increment in the prices of sachet and bottled water effective from Monday, September 19, 2022. A sachet of water popularly called ‘pure water’ which is currently being sold at 30pesewas will be sold for 50pesewas, while the 500ml bottled water will also go up to GHC2 from the current GHC1.50 and the 750ml will be retailed at GHC3. The President of the National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers, Magnus Nunoo, said the price change has been necessitated by the increasing cost of production including the cost of fuel, vehicle spare parts and imported packaging materials as well as recent increase in utilities such as electricity and water. “A bag of sachet water, 500ml by 30, will now sell at GHC7 from the retail trucks.   John Mahama Former President John Dramani Mahama has been badly exposed over the comments that his entitlements have not been paid. He said although he has some entitlements as a former President, the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government has failed to fulfil its mandate of paying him the benefits to which he is entitled to as a former head of state. He claims that the government has denied him the right to receive benefits like free utilities, which he is entitled to because he has held the nation’s highest position. Last Monday, the former president’s office also went on media blitz to deny allegations that he accepted an ex-gratia and other benefits payment of GHC14 million in 2013.   Ghanaian model and socialite Shugatiti known in private life as Abena Serwaa Frimpong has explained why she feels unconcern all the time about social media insults and attacks on her personality. According to her, the lack of love she suffered from her mother and father when growing up made her be able to have tough skin towards insults and abuse. “It is because I grew up without love so I’m used to it. Fantacee Wiz is a multiple award winning traditional folk singer from Freetown, Sierra Leone. Fantacee began music as a member of the Voice of Children on UN Radio. She later joined a music group called Freetong Players International.   Public Relations (PR) expert and soprano singer for Bethel Revival Choir, Adelaide Ama Datsomor, has shared their journey of humble beginnings. According to her, choir has been around since the 1980’s beginning with their uncles and aunties who later handed over to them. Ghanaian award winning backup vocalist and composer, Nana Ama Dadzi, has stated that doing music in Ghana will only end in regrets. According to her, the Ghanaian system is bad with only a few musicians benefiting from it. In an interview with Mercy Bee the Ekumfi Princess on  e.tv Ghana’s ‘Girl Vibes Show’, she said, “I don’t know if things will change or when it will change but, what I know is that if you what to live on music in Ghana you won’t survive.”  She blames the MUSIGA board but, also some musicians and believes if things will change then, musicians need to change their attitudes as well. “If they don’t appreciate the people, they made their music withthen we will continue to be where we are. Sista Afia In Car Crash

  Songstress Sista Afia has survived a car accident and she has since been thanking God for saving her life. The ‘Jeje’ crooner announced the accident on Tuesday when she shared a video on Snapchat of the car being towed by a truck. According to her, she was lucky because it could have been deadly but she is thankful to God for saving her life. “God saved me today, forever grateful,” she wrote on Snapchat. Born Francisca Gawugah, Afia is recognised as one of the country’s female acts who have come far in her music career. She started music sometime in 2015 groomed by Bisa Kdei and she has since not looked back. She made her first collaboration with Bisa Kdei “Kro Kro no” also her first official release as a musician. She went on to gain popularity after releasing her single ‘Jeje’ featuring dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and Afezi Perry. Sister Afia also released the album “Queen Solomon” in 2018. She is now a household name on the music scene.

Aisha Huang Faces Court Today

  En Huang, alias Aisha Huang, a Chinese galamsey queen arrested for engaging in illegal mining will be put before an Accra Circuit Court today, Wednesday. She is to answer charges preferred against her in relation to illegal mining. Aisha, who was deported in 2018 for allegedly engaging in illegal mining, is currently facing two fresh charges. She is being held on the charges of sale and purchase of minerals in without license and engaging in illegal mining. However, information gathered by DGN Online indicates that fresh charges will likely be preferred against her when she appears before the court. It is also likely the A-G will discontinue the case at the Circuit Court and commence trial at the High Court as was done in Aisha’s previous case. At the last sitting, the court presided over by Samuel Bright, could not take her plea because the court did not have a Chinese interpreter.
